Time to get close up to Europe's biggest Gothic Cathedral, and look, another blue sky! In fact this is the Minster and St Michael le Belfry, a large (800 according to the history page) evangelical Anglican church in the heart of the city.

Wow, you have a second CDP blog? Cool!
ReplyDeleteThe cathedral is awesome! And to be honest, I didn't even know there was a St. Hilda until I read it on someone's blog just this past year. ;)
Happy New Year!
Commuting, are you? Well, I suppose to see quite a lot of one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Europe. Rob, from Barcino, originally from Stateburgum/Argentoratum, aka Argentina for a short time.
ReplyDeleteWell, Hilda, Rob and Mandy, we're sort of between two towns and not sure where to settle. They're only an hour apart anyway. Very best wishes for 2010. Let's see if my picture-taking improves over the year.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing cathedral! You captured it well on a sunny day. Now I'd love to take a look INSIDE the cathedral ....(hint hint)
ReplyDeleteThanks Leif, I'll get inside one of these days. I visited your church - I think it was yours - a couple of days ago on your blog, decorated for advent.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED York and will happily follow your blog. At some point maybe you can post a photo of the Roman buildings and street that are under the Minster? It was goosebump thrilling to walk on an authentic Roman road.
