A relatively new Scandinavian-influenced build on Walmgate, though I could be wrong about the inspiration. I like the blue against the brickwork, the boarding and the relief provided by the hanging bays and recessed upper levels. Can't see a gate? See the earlier post, Where bars are gates and gates are streets.

Different and interesting building style. What I like most is perhaps the BLUE color. And one more thing I do like in England.... the colorful front doors!:-)
ReplyDeleteAt least it's NICE modern.
ReplyDeleteNo I hadn't seen Oakland, I have only just discovered Oakland ;-)
I like colourful front doors too, but many of them are being replaced by white UPVC (plastic).
ReplyDeleteI keep looking at the bar across the 2nd story window. Does it serve a function? Won't keep you from falling out the window, that's for sure. These are not bad looking townhouses. What's across the street?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sending cieldequimper my way.
I confess ignorance to the first question. This is a new build on an old street, so opposite are shops and dwellings, the National Early Music Centre in an old church, and further on some Rowntree wharves on the River Foss. Rowntree was the Quaker chocolate company taken over by Nestlé some years ago.
